Step 4: This is the menu for the Combine Leave Setup. If you want to set up a new Combine Leave, click 'Create' and you shall see the screen below.
Code and Description
Enter the Code and Description for the Combine Leave that you want to set up.
For Code, you can enter anything that represent the Combine Leave. Typically is something simple and easy to remember.
For Description, enter full description of the Combine Leave, such as 'Annual Leave and Maternity for Manager and Above'
Leave Type Entitle Formula
Choose the formula to calculate the Leave Entitle for the new Combine Leave that you just created.
The difference between the 3 options are:
Maximum Days Taken
Enter here the maximum number of days of Leave that Employee can take for the selected Leave Type here.
For example, if the Annual Leave is 20 days and Marriage Leave is 5 days. But if the Maximum Days Taken here is 21, then the maximum number of Leaves that the Employee can take for both Annual Leave and Marriage Leave is only 21 instead of 25.
You can choose the period of the Maximum Days Taken. There are three type of period:
Use Maximum Leave & Allow ESS View
Ticking on Use Maximum Taken From Leave Type box means the system will only take the highest number of Leave for all Leave Type chosen here.
For example, if Annual Leave is 10 days and Marriage Leave is 3 days, once the Use Maximum Taken From Leave Type box is tick, it means the maximum number of Leave Combined allowed is 10 days (highest of the two).
Bear in mind that this feature will OVERWRITE the 'Max. Days Taken' selection enter in the above.
Allow ESS View is to allow Employee to view this leave type during their log in.
Selection List
Choose the Leave Types that you want to combine from the 'Available List' and move them over using the buttons located in between of the two tables.
Click 'Save' when you are done.
