Hardship Allowance is not really a type of Allowance but more like a type of setting.
The function of this feature is for you to set a maximum number of OT hours according to your company's policy, if Employees work more than the maximum OT hours, then you can decide to park these extra OT hours under which Allowance and also the OT Rate for these extra OT hours.
Here are the description for every particulars in Hardship Allowance Setting Page.
- First, enter the Code for this Hardship Allowance. Example here uses 'Extra OT', but any other Code that you deemed fit can be used here as well.
- Choose the type of Allowance Code that you want this Hardship Allowance to use. Please note that you need to create the Allowance Code first, then only you will see the Allowance Code from the drop down list. If you are unsure of how to create a new Allowance Code, click here to learn how.
- Enter the maximum number of Overtime Hours. If the actual number of OT hours is higher than this, then the system will automatically shift the extra OT hours to the Allowance Code/Type that you decided in the earlier step.
- Choose the OT Rate for the Extra OT Hours. Please take note that this OT Rate is only applicable for the OT Hours that exceed the maximum number of OT Hours that you set earlier.
- Click 'Save' and you have just created a new Hardship Allowance.
