Step 5. Creating Approving Workflow for Leave Application

This article will guide you to set up a workflow for leave application.

A company may need more than one workflow to manage the leave application. For example, the process for approval and applying Leave might be different for a factory worker and a senior manager in the same company, this can be managed by creating two different Leave Application Workflow.

Based on your company policy, you can set up the different workflow for different Job Group.


Tips 
There are two different setups for Leave Workflow, basic and advanced. This guide is base on the basic mode of Leave Workflow as the default setting for all is basic mode.


  


1. Firstly, enter the code for your new workflow. Then enter the description for your new workflow.

2. It is advisable to provide sufficient details and appropriate information to avoid confusion in the future.

 

3. These are the options on routing the leave request for approval.

  • First option will automatically route to the next level of approver after first 24 hours
  • Second option will route to the next level of approver after anyone from the first level has already approved

 

4. Enter the number of Time Interval for Next Approval Level in hours. Tick the box 'Keep Reminding Approvers Until Action Taken' to remind to employee if no action is taken within the time entered.



5. Choose Approver from the drop down list that employee wish to be approve by and the minimum number of employee that needed to approve this leave. 


Tips 
- The person who approve the leave is the Immediate Superior 1 of the employee. The next level of approver is the Immediate Superior 1 of the applicant's Immediate Superior 1. 
- Immediate Superior is defined in Career Progression under the HRIS module.


6. Click 'Save' and you are done creating a new Leave Application Approving Workflow.
