2. Although you have created Leave Type, but there might be more setting for the Leave Type that you need to set, for example, whether the Leave Type will apply to all, or only Female employee? Whether the Leave Type depends on Employee's seniority or same for all?
Step 1 ,2 & 3: To set up the Leave Type that you have created, go to Home -> Leave -> Setup ->Leave Group
Step 4: then click 'Leave Type' on the desired group that you want to create or edit.
You will see as the page below:
Step 5: Click create to create a new leave type.
You will see the leave type screen as below:
4. Firstly, choose the Leave Group and Leave Type that you want to edit. You will see the all the Leave Group and Leave Type that you have created earlier from the drop down list.
Tips Do note that the Setup for the Leave Type that you make here will ONLY affect the chosen Leave Group. For example, any changes you make for Leave Type Annual Leave here will ONLY affect the Leave Group Executive. |
5. Do note that there are two pages (note the top left corner in the picture above) for Leave Setup.
6. There are a few ways to calculate the entitlement for different Leave Type. Choose from three different type of Leave Type Entitlement Formula:
7. The 'Entitlement Earn' is to allow Company to set when will Employee earn their Leave, two options available are:

8. You can decide when can the Employee start to take leave. Options provide are:
9. If the Leave Type is gender specific, then choose only 'Female' or 'Male', else choose 'Both'.
10. If the Leave Type needs to follow a certain Approving Workflow, then choose that particular Workflow from the drop down list. If you need to create a new Workflow but not sure how, refer to here.
11. One of the key criteria in setting Leave Type is seniority or year of service in the company. This section allows you to set the seniority, entitlement day and number of days of Leave allowed to be carried forward to next year.
12. The first row is to set the number of months of service, second row is the entitlement day and third row is the number of days of leave that can be carried forward to next year.
13. In the example below, the first column set the rule of that allow Employee with 60 months of service (5 years) will be entiltled for 14 days of Leaves per annum and only 5 days can be carried forward to the next year.
14. The second row means Employee will service month more than 60 months (999 months is more than maximum years of working) will get 18 days and only 5 days can be carried forward to the next year.

16. This panel is to define setting for Carry Forward for that Leave Type.
17. 'Carry Forward Leave Type' is list of new Carry Forward Leave Type that created by user. If you created any new Carry Forward Leave Type, it will list down under this list.
18. 'Effective Period' means the period that the Carry Forward will remain valid, which after this period, it will automatically be cancelled if not utilized.
19. 'Alert Before Expired' is to set how many days in advanced that the system will send email reminder to alert respective Employee
20. This panel is for setup of Advanced Notice Policy, you can choose the Advanced Notice Policy that you may created earlier from the drop down list from here.
21. Set the number of days (Working Days) in advanced that the notice will be send and also to who will the email be sent to under the Email Notification Listing.
22. This panel is for Emergency Leave Setting. Tick the box of 'Emergency Leave' if it is allowed according to your company Leave Policy.
23. If you have any pre-defined Emergency Leave Approving Workflow, you can choose from the drop down list.
24. You can also set the maximum number of Emergency Leave that an Employee can take every year, once this number exceeded, system will block the employee to apply.
25. This panel is for Advanced Leave Setting. You can set the maximum number of Advanced Leave allowed per year and also choose the Advanced Leave Prorate Policy that pre-defined (if any) in the system.
26. This panel is for other relevant setting for Leave Type.
27. 'Allow Add Leave' is to enable the Admin user to manually increase certain number of Leave day. Not only that you can set the maximum number of Additional Leave allowed here, but you can also set when will these Additional Leave will be expired.
28. 'Allow Half Day Leave' is an option for you to enable the system to allow Employee to apply half day leave.
29. 'Hide Leave Balance From ESS' is an option for you to choose NOT to display the number of Leave that Employee has accumulated when they login via Employee Self Service (ESS)
30. Once you complete all the set up, click 'Save'.
