Purpose of the Start Time of the Day feature for "Next Day Shift"
This feature is used to cater the current system behavior for shift that begins at night (Actual Clocking Time before 00:00) where clocking data of the said night shift will be displayed based on the following day's date under employee's Time Entry screen.
Please note that currently the system will consider any clocking occurring before “00:00” to be based on today's date as shown in the example provided below:
Example:
- Shift: NS - Night Shift 23:00 - 07:00
- Clocking time
- Current Time Entry (Start Time of the Day: 00:00)
- System will update the clocking details based on today's date, 05/Mar/2018 (Monday) although the details fall under the desired shift (NS) range for 06/Mar/2018 (Tuesday).
- This is due to the system analyzer had determined that the clocking for 06/Mar/2018 (Tuesday) to begin at “00:00”.
- Hence, the clocking range for this date would be from 06/Mar/2018 (Tuesday) to 07/Mar/2018 (Wednesday).
- Earliest In: 06/Mar/2018 (Tuesday) at 19:00
- Latest Out: 07/Mar/2018 (Wednesday) at 11:00
By utilizing the Start Time of the Day feature, the shift analyzer can be influenced to determine the time that the following day will begin, resulting in the following result:
Example:
- Start Time of the Day
- Updated Time Entry (Start Time of the Day: 23:00)
- Employees clocking has been assigned to the shift (NS) range for 06/Mar/2018 (Tuesday) accordingly.
