How to determine whether SMTP setting is compliant to iWoWSoft requirement?

Prerequisite:

  1. Have Microsoft Outlook 2010/2013 installed.
  2. Have SMTP protocol setting info for outgoing mail server. Info includes:
    1. Public Mail Server Address. It means it can be accessible from internet.
    2. SMTP (outgoing mail) Port Number
    3. Login Email Address and Password. This email account must be authenticated in order to deliver email notifications to both internal(for ex. yourname@yourcompany.com) and external domain (for ex. yourname@hotmail.com) recipients' email address. This email account also must be set no restriction on account expiration.

How to test whether SMTP setting is compliant to iWoWSoft requirement?

  1. Open Outlook. If the Microsoft Outlook Startup wizard appears, on the first page of the wizard, click Next. Then on the E-mail Accounts page, click Next to set up an email account. If the Microsoft Outlook Startup wizard doesn't appear, on the Outlook toolbar, click the File tab. Then just above the Account Settings button, click Add Account.
  2. Click Manually configure server settings or additional server types, and then click Next.
  3. On the Choose Services Page, select POP or IMAP , and then click Next.
  4. Providing following information on the POP and IMAP Account Settings page.
  5. Under User Information:
    1. In the Your Name and Email Address box, key in Login Email Address as mentioned in Prerequisite.
  6. Under the Server Information box:
    1. In Incoming mail server and Outgoing mail server (SMTP) box, key in Public Mail Server Address  as mentioned in Prerequisite.
  7. Under Logon Information box:
    1. In User Name box, key in Login Email Address as mentioned in Prerequisite.
    2. In Password box, key in Login Email Password as mentioned in Prerequisite.
  8. Click More Settings on the right bottom side of this page.
  9. In the Internet E-mail Settings Page, click Outgoing Server tab, and tick My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication box.
  10. Click Advanced tab, and in the Outgoing server (SMTP) box, key in SMTP (outgoing mail) Port Number as mentioned in Prerequisite.
  11. Click Ok. 
  12. In the POP and IMAP Account Settings Page, click Test Account Settings... button to see whether sending email testing works.
