Why hospitalization leave taken within this year is deducted from the previous year hospitalization leave balance?
If the hospitalization leave taken in the current year is deducted from the previous year hospitalization leave balance, it is most likely caused by your company leave policy for leave deduction method. This means that whenever an employee submits a leave application, the system should deduct the leave balance from the current year of the leave submission regardless of the leave date.
This scenario will happen if the following criteria are met:
- Leave policy setting > deduction method is "based on Current Balance".
- Leave application was submitted in the previous year.
Example
Employee Ali had applied for hospitalization leave on 20 December 2019. The affected leave date(s) are from 19 December 2019 - 18 January 2020; 31 days in total. Since the leave application was submitted in year 2019 and the leave deduction policy is to deduct from the current year of the leave submission (2019), all 31 days will be deducted in 2019 hospitalization leave balance.
How to configure deduction method by leave type?
Go to Leave > Setting > Leave Policy Setting > Other Leave Setting :
